Welcome! My name is Elmar Unnsteinsson and I’m a philosopher. Here you can find information about my research projects and teaching experience. Most of my work is on issues in philosophy of language and philosophy of mind.

Screen Shot 2015-08-06 at 12.10.32I am Principal Investigator of the Confused Intentions Project, funded by The Icelandic Research Fund and based at the University of Iceland, Institute of Philosophy. That project is mostly on hiatus, however, while I’m appointed as postdoc at University College Dublin, School of Philosophy.

I did my PhD at The CUNY Graduate Center in New York (2015). Click here to read the Introduction to my dissertation; it remains a fairly accurate description of my main research project.

And, finally, my last name is a patronym, so, it’s not really a name. But we can pretend.
